A look inside our flagship DOLBY ATMOS mix and mastering suite for Universal Music Group / Capitol CMG. From the outset, the intent was to create a room that felt as inspiring as it was accurate. A space where world class acoustic performance could coexist with a modern, refined architectural language.
At the heart of the room is a monitoring system from our friends at PMC. Anchored by IB2-XBD LCR and supported by a fully integrated immersive monitoring environment concealed with a combination of CI-65’s and CI-140’s in the architecture itself. The system was designed to disappear, allowing the focus to remain entirely on the music.
Every detail was approached with intention,
balancing visual dynamics with acoustic precision,
and aesthetic restraint with forward thinking building science.
Beyond the visible finishes lies a highly engineered environment. The suite is acoustically highly isolated from the surrounding structure through floating slab & floor assemblies, high performance sound reducing wall systems, extensive bass trapping integrated throughout the walls and ceilings, STC doors and sound locks, and dedicated ultra low noise mechanical systems. Together, these elements create an environment where artists and engineers can work distraction free at any hour of the day.
As a fully immersive 360 degree ATMOS environment, every surface, angle, and material was carefully considered to optimize time domain performance and spatial accuracy. The result is a room that delivers remarkable consistency throughout the room while maintaining a sense of openness and air rarely found in technical spaces.
