This nearly 10,000 square foot facility for Capitol Christian Music Group and Capitol CMG Publishing sets a new benchmark for what a modern creative environment can be—where the performance of a world-class commercial recording studio meets the openness and ease of a space designed for artists to think, create, and push boundaries without limitation.
From the outset, the vision was clear: craft a space that feels light, breathable, and inspiring, while quietly delivering an uncompromising level of technical precision. Every detail was approached with intention—balancing visual softness with acoustic accuracy, and aesthetic restraint with forward-thinking building science. The result is Capitol Records Creative House: a refined, modern environment designed to remain timeless, elegant, and endlessly functional for years to come.
Spanning 9,550 square feet, the facility operates as a true hybrid creative hub—equally suited for music production, songwriting, and high-end video capture. The design allows for seamless transitions between disciplines: from an intimate writing session, to a full band tracking session, to a live performance with an audience, or a fully controlled film environment within the black box. Flexibility is embedded at every level, ensuring that any artist, producer, or engineer can walk in and immediately feel at home. While the architectural language emphasizes natural light and openness, the systems behind the walls tell a far more technical story. NILES collaborated alongside an exceptional team of partners, leading the acoustical design, audio integration, and construction of all studio suites. The program includes two control rooms; one Dolby Certified ATMOS room—four dedicated writer’s suites, an ISO booth, and a live room designed as a flexible black box for both video and tracking. Each space is fully decoupled, supported by independent HVAC systems, and built upon clean, purpose-driven electrical infrastructure to ensure absolute performance.
Complementing the studio environments, our partners thoughtfully executed the common areas, kitchenettes, and restrooms,
with a shared approach to interior design that maintains cohesion throughout the entire facility.
