This project began as an exploration—what’s possible when overlooked space is given intention. Tucked above a three-car garage in the stunning Smoky Mountain town of Cashiers, North Carolina, this attic conversion became a true creative retreat.
In collaboration with GC Custom House, we were brought in to deliver seamless audio integration, precise acoustic isolation, and a balanced listening environment. Each room is fully isolated and anchored by carefully layered treatments—bass trapping, diffusion, and absorption—working in harmony. Full lite doors preserve a sense of openness without compromising performance.

Despite its compact footprint, the studio delivers remarkable accuracy. The vision was simple: create a destination where clients can step away from the pace of city life, drop their shoulders, immerse themselves in the surrounding landscape, and reconnect with the creative process. A space that invites both focus and ease, while maintaining a thoughtful continuity with the aesthetic language of the main lodge.
As with many of our builds, the real work lives behind the walls. The VRF mechanical system is whisper quiet and meticulously tuned to meet strict studio noise floor requirements, while maintaining a comfortable and stable environment. You don’t hear it, but you feel it.

At the center of the room sits an highly integrated API 2448 console, paired with PMC 6-2 monitors, delivering clarity and translation you can trust at the highest level.
This space does more than inspire visually—it performs. Whether producing, mixing, or simply exploring ideas, it offers a flexible sonic palette that adapts to the moment.
